Why the Society of Friends

Les Amis de Louis Aragon et Elsa_cc781905- 5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_Triolet, in the tradition of the great French literary societies, intervene on the massively disseminated image of the two most present and most discussed writers of the 20th century.

This intervention is not limited to writings nourished by the battles of the century. Beyond the fate reserved for the works of Aragon and Elsa Triolet, the Society of Friends intends to act against ordinary, totalitarian or political threats to culture.
The Society allows everyone to find themselves within a local, national and international network of friends, of all opinions and origins, who have these objectives in common.

Our Society, founded in 1985 at the call of personalities from the literary and artistic world, under the presidency of Jean Ferrat, is constituted according to the law of 1901.
Its main statutory objectives are to
“  Contribute to the influence of the works of Louis Aragon and Elsa Triolet in France and around the world, Support and promote any public or private initiative likely to improve knowledge and dissemination, Ensure respect for the memory of the two writers »

Honorary President: Jean FERRAT (1985-2010)
President: Jean RISTAT
Secretary General: François EYCHART

Think that we never stop fighting and that having won is three times nothing And that everything is called into question as long as the man of the man is accountable.

Aragon

We will have been among those who will have sought, even if it meant deceiving ourselves and perishing.

Elsa Triolet
